He Chose Me/You!
Hey y’all hey! Happy Monday! I’ve been doing quite a bit of travel lately and I’m still adjusting to the time change. Don’t judge me! It takes a few weeks for my circadian rhythm to align. Any who, have you purchased, “this book right here: a 40-week devotional to manifesting your purpose, volumes 1, 2 and 3?” If not, what are you waiting for?! Gratitude to all those who have and be on the lookout for a gathering of some sort to celebrate the release. Okay, all announcements and housekeeping is done.
Over the weekend, I visited the legacy in the big apple and at her work environment. I was struck by a set of mannequins aligned in a corner of a room. They were not dressed or prepared to be on display. I asked her to take a photo of me in the midst because the representation spoke so powerfully to me. On the surface, it would appear that each one is not distinct from the other. On this path the world often tells us that there is nothing special about us. In fact, even as we engage in activity that “sets us apart,” the world smacks us back into formation, reminding us that we are ordinary, mundane and even less than. When we are not careful, we can start to believe and digest the lies of the enemy. We accept his trickery to believe that we are basic and that no matter how hard we grind to stand firm on the Word of the Lord, our circumstances will remain unchanged. As I asked my daughter to take the photo, she said, “I see what you’re doing.” While we wait, we often don’t get a glimpse of what God has planned for our next. May we be encouraged to know without a shadow of doubt that He’s got us and He chose us.
Even as we stand amongst a flurry of people and situations that appear unbothered to God, He is perfecting us and allowing the wait to be for our good. It feels to us as though we are still, looking to be assembled, but to God, He has the intention to choose us from out of the lineup and purpose us for that which He has planned. John 15:16 reads, “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit – fruit that will last – and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.” It’s nothing worse than fruit that appears beautiful, but isn’t ripe. Just as we wait, God is preparing us to ensure the harvest is plentiful and that we will be fully equipped to go where He leads and follow the prompting of the Holy Spirit for each assignment we have been ordained to finish. He chose me! He chose you! No matter what is said otherwise, that is the mantra we must hold dear to our hearts and within our psyche. What was set while we were in our mother’s womb still holds true to this very moment despite the perceived evidence surrounding us. As the songwriter penned, “It may look like we’re surrounded, but we’re surrounded by You.”
What are you waiting for? I don’t know about you, but I’ve got a long list comprised of what God has spoken even amidst His silence. Until the manifestation, I stand, with my face like flint, next to others, holding fast to the promises of God. Even as I stand amongst others and witness their activity, it doesn’t take away from what God spoke over me. He will do what He said because He chose me. He will do what He said because He chose you. Let us not be encumbered by the wait on the way to the promise. You "got" chose at Calvary. Everything else will be fulfilled.
