Distraction or Destiny?

I've been wrecked all week in worship. It started last Sunday and just amplified as the week persisted. It was in my usual spaces - a few sermons, a 40-minute worship youtube experience, my prayer time and through dance. However, the unexpected place was a Marco Polo from a friend who recently moved. Just as they began settling into a new job, they were pinged for another opportunity. They asked me to agree with them in prayer for clarity. As I began to speak with them about the opportunity, the Lord settled in my spirit to say unto them, I pray that you receive clarity as to whether it is destiny or a distraction! Glory unto God! Here I was telling something to them that I grabbed ahold of in the spirit and that right quick! The entire week prior provided los of challenge. I was prepared to throw in the towel, cue up the band and take my ball and go home. But God. He knows precisely when to send a Word to encourage us to continue to trust Him and not man or their antics. He is indeed God alone.

I have been in a season of seeking. I'm seeking God to assist me in understanding His desires over my life. All while I've been asking, praying, believing, He's still been moving seemingly for others; and the enemy would desire me to stay there in that singular thought, as if we serve a God that can answer one prayer at a time for one person at a time. Contrary to that consideration, we serve a great big God! He can do more than one thing at a time. As we seek His face, we learn as to whether what we encounter is destiny or a distraction. However, it doesn't end there because even if it's a distraction, that doesn't mean we won't reach our destiny, it just may take a little longer. As the preachers would say, "Come here, children of Israel, can you testify?" God's timing is perfect and no matter of man made manipulation can stop His perfect will.

While we wait we must infuse our persons of His goodness, His dependability, His care over everything we encounter because it has been allowed by Him. Luke 8: 12-15 reads, "Those along the path are the ones who hear, and then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved. Those on the rocky ground are the ones who receive the word with joy when they hear it, but they have no root. They believe for a while, but in the time of testing they fall away. The seed that fell among thorns stands for those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by life’s worries, riches and pleasures, and they do not mature. But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop." We must know what to do to plant our seed on good soil so that it stands regardless of distraction as we increase unto our destiny. So many equate destiny with prosperity, but destiny in God is being a living witness to experience His good and perfect will in the manner by which He orchestrated before time began. He has determined a thing long before we were in our mother's womb. The destiny He has designed will come to pass despite and sometimes even as a result of the distractions that show themself unto us. I'm praying for my friend, I'm praying for us and myself, that even as we discern the difference, we hold to the One who permitted both to occur - coupled with the expectation that we worship Him nonetheless.
