God Is In The Everythingness

Over the weekend I was blessed to celebrate a sisterfriend on the 1st anniversary of launching her business (https://work4changellc.com/). It was an intentionally intimate gathering of friends and family who she wanted to honor and thank for supporting the vision God gave to her. At some point during the evening, she said, “God is in the everythingness” of it all!” My tablemate and I marveled at that statement and as the evening concluded, the simplicity in those words resonated deep in my soul. Each one of us is managing and maneuvering and multitasking our way through more than we can even articulate and yet there is God, there is always God in the everythingness of it all. To God be the Glory! Wherever we turn, whatever we attempt, whatsoever we imagine, we can expect, anticipate, put your money on it, boldly declare five unequivocal books (y’all play spades) on Him! This reality is so beautifully stated in the Ecclesiastes 3: 1-11:

“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance. A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace. What profit hath he that worketh in that wherein he laboureth? I have seen the travail, which God hath given to the sons of men to be exercised in it. He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.

There is benefit of inviting God into the everythingness. Who wouldn’t want His divine presence, His instruction, His grace, His mercy and His love through the seasons; the seasons that sometimes happen all at the same time? How do we keep it together amidst the chaos? We center God in the everythingness and watch Him work! Watch Him command the resolve that we stand in need of. And the only expectation is that we give Him praise. That’s it. That’s the post. He is everything we need in the everythingness of it all! And because of that, everything is going to be alright.
