While on my morning run (wait allow me to refrain). “On my morning run” sounds like I run every morning. I won’t allow myself to be that great! LOL! Revised: On a morning run a couple of days ago, I noticed a house with a sign in the yard that read, “Coming Soon.” You may be familiar with this signage as it serves as a public announcement that the house is going on the market for selling. As I noticed the house, perhaps differently than I have the last ten years that I’ve ran, walked and driven by, I considered its’ beauty. However, before I continued in that vein, the Holy Spirit began speaking to me more deeply about “coming soon.” I barely finished that portion of the run (wait allow me to refrain). I was running uphill and already concentrating quite hard to make it to the top, and the revelation of “coming soon” hit me and nearly thrusted me back to the base of the hill. Here’s what I received that I’m over the moon excited about!
When a person or household adds a “Coming Soon” sign, perhaps it takes the neighbors and onlookers by surprise. One may wonder what’s happened to bring a person to such a decision. Yet, “Coming Soon” does not happen overnight. Internal processing and a series of conversations occur. Planning takes place to determine an alternative residence. Financial acumen is studied with analysis paralysis. One’s expertise is explored to determine if it can be sustained through the selling or if assistance is needed. Suffice to say again, “Coming Soon” does not happen overnight. However, those who don’t reside in the household are not privy to the process. And during the process, God may have us on silent as opposed to mute. Mute implies our inability to speak on the decision to move, while silence suggests our ability to speak but selection not to.
We mustn’t take our cues from the outside, but instead by seeking God. When we decide to do something, we have the choice to go on silent. As in the case of the home, we continue to speak to our neighbors and engage, but until we’ve been released, we operate in silence. The Word of the Lord declares in I Thessalonians 4:11, “and to make it your ambition to lead a quiet life: You should mind your own business and work with your hands, just as we told you.” “Coming Soon” represents the fruit of “minding our own business quietly,” and the release to come off silent.
“Coming Soon” signals to the external that work has been done behind the scenes. “Coming Soon” signals that preparation has taken place. “Coming Soon” to others may represent a new beginning, but in God, for the “seller” the new beginning is already in motion and underway. In this season, we are compelled within the spiritual realm to display a “Coming Soon” sign to whatever obstacles are posturing as mighty in our life. Even as the preparation is underway, it is permissible to serve notice to opposition by the external display that God is up to something! While the enemy would have us to remain on mute to declare the goodness of God, even when it doesn’t feel good, we must remain committed to a demeanor of “Coming Soon,” even when all the pieces of the plan aren’t fully realized. In the realty world, “Coming Soon” is used as a marketing strategy to drum up excitement about the listing. God dares us to drum up excitement about who He is and what He is doing! God dares us to move to a new place in Him! God dares us to transition to the greater. God dares us to dream big! “Coming Soon” doesn’t require the house to be ready for a showing. In God, we often believe we have to clean ourselves up to be prepared to stand in His presence. We couldn’t be more wrong. Serve notice today on whatever is standing in the way of you and your “Coming Soon” mentality. Romans 4:17 compels us to “call those things which be not as though they were.” That is a “Coming Soon” mentality! When we are asked, “When did you decide to move?” we may confidently say, “It was decided at Calvary.” See you later to whatever is blocking the proximate cause to your destiny! So long, bye-bye!
